Lead Like Jesus

“Whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant.”
Matthew 20:26
Every man leads someone whether he realizes it or not.
At work, at home, in his friend circle his life is already a message being received by the people around him.
The question is not whether you are leading.
The question is what kind of leader you are becoming.
Most men think of leadership as position.
The title, the platform, the person out front with the loudest voice.
But Jesus redefined greatness in a single sentence and it had nothing to do with any of that.
Whoever wants to be great must become a servant.
Not a performer. Not a manager. Not the most dominant presence in the room.
A servant.
That reframe changes everything.
Real leadership is not loud.
It does not need the spotlight to function or the applause to continue.
It goes first when going first is costly.
It protects the people in its care without needing to be thanked for it.
It holds to conviction when culture is pressuring it to compromise.
It serves when serving is the last thing it feels like doing.
Leadership starts on your knees before it ever stands in front of anyone.
It is built in private before it shows up in public.
It is less about being in charge and more about being anchored in Christ so deeply that the people behind you have something solid to follow.
Be that man.
Lead like Jesus.
Let’s Pray
God, make me a leader who serves before he directs and sacrifices before he asks anything of anyone else.
Where I have led with ego instead of humility, correct me.
Where I have sought the position without doing the work of the posture, strip it back.
Teach me to lead from my knees, and to go first when it costs me something.
To protect the people in my care without needing recognition for it.
Make me the kind of man that the people behind me are better for following.
Not because of my talent or my title, but because of who I am becoming in You.
